Ogonis-UNEP ReportsThe Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People, MOSOP, has given the Federal Government a 30-day ultimatum to commence the implementation of the United Nations Environmental Assessment Report on Ogoni, Rivers State.
The ultimatum was issued yesterday at the 23rd anniversary of Ogoni people, at Birabi Memorial Grammar School, Bori, the traditional headquarters of Ogoni people.
The President of MOSOP, Mr. Legborsi Pyagbara, said that the people of Ogoni were tired of the delay in the implementation of the UNEP report on Ogoni environment, which was degraded as a result of massive oil spills.

The MOSOP leader said that after 30 days, the people would be mobilized to the streets on peaceful protest until the report was visited.
Similarly, Pyagbara called on the Rivers State Government to commence the dualisation of Saakpenwa-Kono Road, stressing that it was for the economic well-being of Ogoni people.
